The 2024–2026 action plan “Support for Innovation Support Structures” under Citeb Component 1 is funded by the European Union as part of the Réunion ERDF-ESF+ program, for which the Réunion Region serves as the managing authority. Europe is committed to Réunion through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
Through this “Innovation Hub” initiative (Phase 1), activities are being carried out to benefit Citeb users in the field of marine environment.

Citeb’s entire 2024–2026 action plan, “Support for Innovation Support Structures” (EFRO Measure 1.1.11), is structured around activities designed for and aimed at public, private, scientific, institutional, and economic partners, and focuses on three main themes:

  • Aquaculture and biotechnology,
  • Fishing,
  • Environment.

These translate into four distinct actions, organized into the following components:

  • Action 1: Activities carried out for the benefit of Citeb users in the field of the marine environment (COMPONENT 1).
  • Action 2: Activities carried out as the implementing body for the regional smart specialization strategy in the field of the marine environment (COMPONENT 2)
  • Action 3: Investment tailored to the needs of expanding service offerings in the environmental sector (COMPONENT 3)
  • Action 4: Activities carried out for the benefit of Citeb users and as a key player in the regional strategy for smart specialization in the fields of aquaculture, related biotechnologies, and fisheries (COMPONENT 4)

For Component 1: Support for activities carried out for the benefit of the members and users of the clusters.

Part 1 of Citeb’s 2024–2026 Action Plan focuses on the environment, with the primary mission of providing analytical services to monitor the quality of the marine environment and track coastal pollution, either through direct quantification or through the use of bioindicators. The objectives of the Action Plan therefore include

1) the provision of analytical services and the development of a new range of analytical services, in particular by expanding the range of parameters analyzed locally,

2) improving the performance and competitiveness of its testing laboratory by refining its quality management system, and finally

3) Enhancing Citeb’s visibility at the local, regional, national, and international levels by strengthening and developing partnerships.
